Summit County is recruiting for a Transit Maintenance Tech I. This position will work for our Public Works Department operating light to medium duty trucks, skid-steer loaders, medium sized loaders, backhoes, tractors, snow blowers, snow plows and other equipment such as hand tools, generators, cutting torches, saws, grinders and other related equipment required to maintain and install bus shelters and park and ride facilities in the Kimball Jct area.
Checks, cleans and services bus shelters, park and ride facilities, and assigned/required equipment, performs routine maintenance and emergency repairs on equipment used during performance of work assignments, and reports mechanical problems to the shop for repair. Sweeps bus shelter floors, power wash bus shelter floors and walls, washes windows gathers and disposes of garbage (inside and outside) and waste receptacles, paints shelter components, removes graffiti, and general landscape maintenance around bus shelters and park and ride facilities. Must become flagging certified.
High School Diploma or GED; and sufficient education and/or training to demonstrate an aptitude or ability to perform above and related duties or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Both positions must possess a valid Utah Driver’s License. Having a Utah Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class B is preferred. Please submit copy of Class B CDL with application.
