Administrative Law Judge
The Summit County Administrative Law Judge is set out to allow for citizens to schedule a hearing


Assessor
The Assessor's Office is responsible for the appraisal of real property homes, condos, recreational parcels, vacant land, commercial and industrial properties. Market values and taxable values are available. Assesses and collects taxes on business personal property (owned and leased), leasehold improvements, mobile homes and offices. Market and taxable values, appraisal information, including year built, square footage and acreage are available. Farmland Assessment Act (Greenbelt) information, which includes qualification requirements, applications, rollback implications and values, is also available.


Attorney
The Summit Attorney's Office is responsible for a wide variety of legal work, including prosecution of all felony and misdemeanor criminal matters in the County, as well as handling junvenile court and civil governmental legal work and government litigation.


Auditor
The Auditor's office prepares and maintains all the financial information for the County. The Auditor prepares the annual budget and provides monthly financial information to each department for management purposes. The Auditor also prepares an annual audit of the County's financial activity. All payrolls, purchasing and corresponding payment of invoices are also the responsibility of the Auditor's office.


Clerk
The Clerk's responsibilities include maintaining the voters' registration system and coordination of the elections held in the County. Other responsibilities include the issuance of marriage licenses and passports, the execution of deeds and conveyances of real estate, the recording of commission minutes, ordinances, contracts and other related documents and the administration of oaths.


Community Development
The Community Development Department consolidates all County Development functions in one location to make the housing and commercial development approval process more convenient for the public. Processes, reviews and approves plans and permit applications for compliance with construction codes and ordinances.


Building
Summit County requires a Building Permit for the construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, movement, improvement, removal, conversion or demolition of any building or structure. There are exceptions for buildings less than 120 square feet, fences less than 6' in height, and certain agricultural buildings.


Planning Division
To meet the diverse needs and goals of the County, there two separate and distinct planning districts: Eastern Summit County & Snyderville Basin


Eastern Summit County Development
Eastern Summit County consists of the eastern side of Summit County, including the unincorporated areas surrounding, but not including the towns of Henefer, Coalville, Kamas, Oakley and Francis.


Snyderville Basin Development
Snyderville Basin Planning District consists of the western side of Summit County, including the unincorporated area surrounding, but not including Park City Municipal.


Engineer
The Summit County Engineering division is responsible for: Design and Construction Management of Public Works Capital Improvement Projects. Design Review and Construction Supervision of all Residential and Commercial Development Projects. Project Management and Construction Supervision of County owned building projects. Administration of select County Ordinances.

Information Technology
Information Technology maintains the County computer systems, local area network and wide area network. We also house the GIS (Geographic Information System) and Micrographics Departments.

Summit County Landfill
Summit County Landfill has two landfills: Three Mile and Henefer


Personnel
The office of Human Resources is responsible for recruiting and participating in the selection process of individuals seeking employment with the county and administrative oversight of personnel. Employment Application.


Public Works
The Public Works Department is directly responsible for maintaining all designated county roads. Maintenance includes snow removal, asphalt/chip placement, road sign placement, sign repairs, sweeping, drainage, monitor and assist flood control activities.
Recorder
The County Recorders Office maintains all land records for Summit County. Documents affecting real property should be submitted to this office for recordation and inclusion into the public record. Property ownership, description, acreage and other related information is available through this office and also plat maps which will assist in locating the land.


Treasurer
The County Treasurer receipts and accounts for all County funds, monitors cash balances, assists in borrowing funds for the County when necessary and invests available cash. Property taxes are collected and disbursed to the various taxing entities and districts in the County. The Treasurer collects assessments and fees for Special Improvement, Special Service Districts and Motor Vehicle Registration.


Weed Department
The Summit County Weed Department is responsible for identifying and eliminating noxious weeds in the county. We are also responsible for educating the public about how to identify and control noxious weeds. We have identified and classified 25 weeds as noxious. Primary Residency Exemptions
How do I apply for residency exemption? I have lived here for several years and didn't request the exemption, how do I get a refund for prior years? I have a home elsewhere and one in Summit County, how can I receive the exemption? I filled out a form at closing stating this is my primary residence and I have not received the exemption. Why didn't the County honor the form?

Marriage Licenses
The marriage license is valid for 30 days from date of application. Photo I.D. is requested. Marriages may be solemnized by: Ministers, rabbis, priests of any religious denomination; Governors, mayors, judges or magistrates, retired judges, or county clerks. (UCA 30-1-6)License fee is $50.00.


Passports
In order to get a passport, you must apply in person, bring 2 passport photos and certified birth certificate if never issued a passport before. It is valid 5 years for people age 16 and younger. For individuals older than 16 years, it is valid for 10 years.

Voter Registration Form Available in in local phone books and in the U.S. Post Offices in Coalville, Park City, and Kimball's Junction. *Photocopies or faxes are accepted as a completed registration.
